What kind of sparring do students of Judo do? Students of Judo practice sparring or Randori. Sparring is broken into two components. Standup sparring is called tachi-waza, and ground sparring is called ne-waza. Strikes are not allowed in sparring. When sparring standing up judoka focus on throwing techniques.
