Tennessee State Judo Championships 2010

Columbia Judo hosted the Tennessee State Judo Championships again this year.
The event ran extremely smoothly and was a roaring success.
Despite the stress of actually running the tournament our competitors faired well. Derek Wilson had a great day taking gold in the Masters Men (M1-M2) (30-39) 214 to 267 lbs weight class. AJ Arias showed his stuff taking silver in the Masters Men (M1-M2) (30-39) 138 to 173 lbs weight class. Joey Penrod preformed very well at the Senior Men (17-29) 205 to 219 lbs weight class and took silver. Mat Lentze took silver in the Senior Men (17-29) 180 to 195 lbs weight class. Sam Gaskin our friend from Dickson Athletic Club grabbed took bronze in a tough Masters Men (M1-M2) (30-39) 214 to 267 lbs weight class and gold in the Senior Men (17-29) 205 to 219 lbs weight class.

Open the Dojo at 12:30 for warm-up/practice Start the promotion promptly at 1:30 End around at 3:00 PM

Who Should Attend
Everyone testing
All other judoka, kids & adults (dress in your gi so you can participate as an uke and so we can take a large group picture for the website) Your kids in their gi (so they can participate as for pictures) Friends & Family

Don’t Forget !

By noon on Friday, you need to email Terry & I the throws, holds, chokes, & armbars you intend to demonstrate We will have practice tonight (Thursday) from 6:15 until 10:15...come and go as you please!

Image Columbia Judo was well represented at the Knoxville Tournament on Saturday Nov 14th.
Jim Irvine brought a team of Mike Westcott, Joey Penrod, Dan Smith and John Pepper to the Knoxville tournament.

Mike Westcott got a Bronze in the Masters division for his age and weight.
Joey Penrod got a Bronze in the Masters division for his age and weight.
Dan Smith got bronze in the Senior Novice division for his weight.
John Pepper got a bronze in the Masters Division for his age and weight and a bronze in the Senior Novice Division for his weight.
